Lenten Mission / Retreat

Join for a VIRTUAL RETREAT for families from 5:00 pm on April 3, 4 and 5. As we continue our journey through Lent, and in anticipation of the glory of Easter, let us prepare ourselves for HOLY WEEK and for that time when we are able to receive our Lord in the Eucharist again and praise Him with renewed hearts and minds. It will be simple, joyful and straightforward. The best thing is that kids will be attentive, too. It will be preached by Rev. Fr. Steve Ryan SDB, Vice Provincial of the Salesians of Don Bosco, New Rochelle, US. It can be viewed here. Video will be archived for viewing if you are unable to attend all three sessions live.

March 27, 2020

Father Sathia will be hearing confessions this evening during Adoration from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Confessions will be heard in his office. Please remember your physical distancing (2 meters) and that there cannot be more than 50 people in the church at a time.

An Act of Spiritual Communion

When unable to receive Holy Communion, one could make a Spiritual Communion. This is a prayer in which we ask our Lord to come to us in the same way He would if we were able to receive the Sacrament.

My Jesus,

I believe that You are truly present in the Holy Eucharist. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

St. Alphonsus Liguori (A.D. 1696-1787)

Here is Father Sathia’s recent update on our parish.

 March 23, 2020

In light of the recommendation of the Chief Medical Officer, we have made the difficult choice to close our parish office. As of March 23, 2020, all visits to the church will be by appointment only.

We will make accommodations for people who wish to come pray at the church. Call the office and we will make arrangements with you to open the church for you to pray.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email Rachel at rachel.jensen@caedm.ca or Father Sathia at sathiaseelan.kulandaisamysdb@caedm.ca and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all navigate through this crisis.
